Lost and Found…Welcome back..
I used to have 40 plus penpal when I was merely 12 years old. By then, I will be waiting for Mr. postman to come to my house everyday and if the usual sound of motorcycle past by my house without stopping, i will be very upset… upset till I will ask “why no letter for me?!!” At times, I remembered the postman will past my house and returned again after a while to deliver my letter.
Make me dissapointed and happy again lor..
Internet was not in our dictionary at the time. So, it was a usual thing to queue up at post office, bought stamps and post the letter. But, I felt the slow mail service was much much better those day compare to now. In the recent incident, I sent a letter to my niece by using slow mail but, it never reached the destination (from Kelana Jaya to Cheras) after 2 months. So? Apa penjelasan?
As I grew older, completed my Form 5, my penpal list was getting lesser and lesser. Till I studied in college, my penpal list only left to 1. And, due to he kept changing address and contact number, and at the same time I kept changing address and contact number too, we eventually lost contact too.
He was my best penpal of all. We exchanged every details of our life. We eventually end up calling each other god-brother, god sister. haha… The note pad was fast finished as a one time letter will eventually reached 16 pages. Couldn’t figure out how we could write so many things. I still keep all the letter. And even still had the photo taken together once he came to Sitiawan for a visit. He was from Shah Alam by then. He moved to Melaka when he was 16 years old. After finished SPM (I guess so), he moved to study accountancy at UTM, Skudai. By then, his family shifted out from the Shah Alam house also. So, u see the difficulty?
I was kinda upset when we lost contact as I thought I had lost a friend forever. I was trying to locate him. And trying harder to locate him when I was about to get married cause I really want him to attend my wedding. But to no avail. sedih? After my wedding, occasionally I will type at google search engine trying my luck to see whether his name will appear on the screen. But, nope. It never pop out.
Then, came facebook and friendster. I thought maybe I could found him using the search function but.. FAILED. Thinking, why he aint using the “communication tools”.
Recently, I tried finding his name by using google search engine again. And.. and.. oh mind.. Is it God arrangement? Yes. I found his name using the google search. When I clicked to the link, itelyou, hit jackpot also not that easy. The rest of how I found him, I will keep it to myself.
Once I got his phone number, immediately I send a message to “him”
The message goes this way “Hi there. Wanna ask something. Are u KKH that I know? My penpal. I am Jenny Sia Ling Ling.” click send.. and was waiting with anticipation. After waiting for a while, I received a message. the reply was “Hi.Long time no see. i thought loss a penpal forever. Guess not loss. How r u? How u get my phone? Where r u? u got msn? mine is xxxxxxxx.com. cheers.”
…… smiling all the way. (after 8 years.. phew..)
We had a great chat using msn yesterday. Like so many things to update each other. And, through these year too, I realised he too trying to locate me using the same method. Slap forehead. haha..
Anyway, welcome back KKH.. Glad to have you as penpal..
