Clumsypanda is back from Bangkok.. Love the place, love the food, love the shopping, love the culture, miss the fun, miss the jokes, HATE the extra kilos (refer to my body. Not my bag) that I brought home.. Haiz.. better start on diet again..
This was the first time Hubby Panda and I traveled by Air Asia. Kinda worried at first as we heard the flight was always delayed, the seat was small, and so on.. We reached LCCT terminal quite early at about 8:30 am (our scheduled flight was 10:40 am.) and Hubby panda had his Mc Breakfast at the airport. Yeap.. you heard me right. Hubby Panda had his Mc Breakfast at the airport. And I PURPOSELY skipped my breakfast as I wanted to have Nasi Lemak inside the plane.. But,WTH!!! They don’t served Nasi Lemak at that time and so no choice.. I had to opt for beef steak instead.. Cry!!! My Mc Breakfast!!!! (For those who don’t know, Clumsypanda is a fan of Mc Breakfast)
Camwhoring while waiting..
Air Asia Beef Steak
Air Asia Sandwich
There was no delayed of the flight (lucky us) and we reached Bangkok at Bangkok Time 11:45 am. From the airport, we traveled about 40 minutes to the hotel by using the cab. Mind! Itelyou!! They had colourful cab and the cars they used were Toyota Camry or Altis.. And, I was wondering how much it cost for those car in Thailand?!! Majority of the cab looks new and clean. Nothing like the cab back here.. Sorry..!!
And, I, of course opt for the pink colour cab!! Ha ha..
It cost us 300 Baht from Airport to the Hotel ..
We stayed at Chinatown Hotel as recommended by one of my friend. Though the Hotel looked a little bit old and congested, but, at least we found it comfortable and located at a stategic place. As stated by the name itself – Chinatown, we felt more like China here than in Thailand. Everywhere we went, there were goldsmith shop, birdnest shop, people selling lottery ticket, hardware shop and when the night fall, you can see a lot of street hawker.
The rate of the hotel was 1580 Baht per night where we stayed for 3 nights including boring breakfast.

Well, when we reached the Hotel, an incident which was not supposed to happen at all took place which caused embarassment for the next 4 days I stayed there. Memalukan!! When the cab we took reached the Hotel, a kinda small size door man rushed out with the intention to help us to carry our luggage. So, as usual the cab driver opened the car bonnet but, before he could took our luggage out, I, CLUMSYpanda, closed the car bonnet and YES!!! It hit his head HARD and I was then, still laughing non stopped while apologized to him. Luckily he did not faint. But, each time we saw each other during my stayed there, we would continue to laugh at each other. Haiz..
We headed to MBK shopping place after checked in and managed to shop for clothes there. It was so damned cheap. Frankly speaking, I was not very good at bargaining but, Hubby Panda was real good at it. I choose the things I like, told Hubby Panda how much I willing to pay for it, and there.. he would bargained with the sales person there and normally, he would get the price that he want. Though they can’t really speak english but at least they undertstand figures which made our bargaining easier..
I kinda like the telephone booth over there. Like Superman changing place..
Grilled Banana with sweet sauce.. Taste a little bit weird as the banana was a little bit hard.. but, kinda like it after few eating..
Pork Sausage with rice inside.. Tasted good.. I miss it.
We shopped till dinner time and then decided to have our dinner at The Fifth MBK. Its was more like a high class food court and everything seems so tasty and presentable that we ordered a lot and at last can’t finished the food. Forgive us!!
Beef Rice
Kyoza (something like dumpling)
Set of Papaya Salad and Tom Yam
Papaya Salad
Tom Yam Gung
Fried Pork.. (Siew Bak)
My Coconut Drink
There were some I did not took the photo as I was too busy eating ..lo.. like Miso soup and Banana Drink..
I like the food there.. It was tasty.. And in conclusion.. I end up eating more than Hubby Panda as I was always hungry. Ha ha..
After dinner we continue to shop again and then, headed back straight to our Hotel.
First lesson I learned in Bangkok: Do not use 7-Eleven as your landmark. Everywhere we go, every few metres away, we can see another 7-Eleven.
-To be Continue-
